Volleyball is such a great sport! My list of volleyball players in the community is quite
large and contines to grow every time I'm at the beach. I reallly enjoy meeting new people
from all over. When I'm not playing, I work as a sales consultant for ADT Security Services
providing burgulary and video surveillance to small businesses and residences in the
San Diego County.
Laura Hendrickson
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - A 30 year vetran to volleyball and growing up in San Diego,
Laura has been to the beach often. Playing in many volleyball tournametns all over the
world, she experienced different levels of venues catering to those that visited each
particular beach. Easy access, parking, snack bars, athletic and playground equipment
and family-friendly parks were always a bonus. Laura's goal is to create similar
enhancements to our San Diego beaches for all to enjoy.
When I first visited the South Mission Beach Sports Park, I was so excited to see the
14 beach volleybal courts with nets and lines 24/7. Most vollebgyall courts along the
coast do not have nets or lines (you have to bring your own). I started working with
Bruk Vandeweghe and Bill Walton to help maintain these courts in 2002 and decided to
develop San Diego Beach Improvement Group in 2006 after discussions for more
improvements to the Sports Park become part of our conversations.
