BACKGROUND
San Diego Beach Improvement Group originated through the efforts of Laura Hendrickson, our executive director, Bruk Vandeweghe, Bill Walton, Diane Yoshida, Dave Behar, Bill VanDeweghe and Pat Valentino. In 2002, Laura organized resources to maintain the beach volleyball courts and the basketball court at South Mission Beach Sports Park by rallying players to donate money and recruiting sponsors, such as Digster/ION Sports and McDavid. With contributions from Bill Walton and many others, we raised funds necessary to keep these courts available to the public on a 24/7 basis. In the process of creating this Sports Park as a non profit we decided, in 2006, to enlarge our area of focus to include more beaches in the San Diego County. Mission Beach is our first area of focus and we will be taking care of the volleyball courts at South Mission Beach Sportspark and obtaining initiative from our survey. SEE SURVEY RESULTS
