OUR PROGRESS
In 2002 when Laura Hendrickson first started taking care of the beach volleyball and basketball courts in South Mission Beach, she would literally ask the volleyball players and Bill Walton to help raise funds to paint the poles, buy cranks, nets and lines. With the help of volleyball player volunteer’s we were able to keep these courts open on a 24/7 basis allowing community members and visitors to South Mission Beach to enjoy these facilities. In 2004, Laura held her first official fundraiser for the courts. With help from sponsors such as Digster and MacDavid, Bill Walton and the beach volleyball community we were able to have 14 new nets, paint the poles and renew the cranks, resurface the basketball court and buy lines for all the courts.

It’s 2008 and we have raised enough money to paint and supply new nets to all the volleyball courts at South Mission Beach Sports Park. Our survey is pointing toward getting more lights for the area and working on a recycling program. Please join us at our summer BBQs, our fundraiser at the WaveHouse, or our Six-Man event to help raise funds for Mission Beach.

Thanks to all of you and your support we are making a difference!
